chrysanths

Last week I had all my students painting flowers of various stripe and petal. These are a couple of chrysanthemums that I tackled when I got some time to myself. The trick with flowers seems to be to keep everything loose and cut the background in to create the petal shapes. By the way, you all know that if you put an aspirin in the water, your cut flowers will keep longer? Aspirins are also useful for headaches created by painting flowers.

Daily Painting

You’ve probably noticed that my ‘daily painting’ routine has gone off the rails somewhat. Frankly, I was getting a little bored with it and I’ve been getting back into painting larger pieces. More fun. I’ll keep on with the still lifes but at a less frenetic pace.
