A Portrait About You
Very often, making gifts of portraits can be fraught with difficulties. Getting the subject to sit for the artist takes away the surprise and busy people often can’t make the time; photographs provided as reference can be unusable due to either quality or expression or even that people sometimes don’t even know where to hang a painting of themselves in their homes. I propose this as a way to make a highly personal and unique gift for a loved one or VIP. The recipient need know nothing of the painting until it’s presented. The portrait has the charm and timelessness of a classical still life and contains the elements of the subject’s life that interest them the most. A Portrait About You. Each time I’ve engaged one of these projects it has been very successful and the subjects have been delighted with the paintings.

How it works: We can agree the elements that will go into the composition. You get those objects to me to be photographed for reference material. Items that need to be returned quickly, can then be returned without alerting the subject. Allow a few weeks for the project as the painting will need to be dry enough for varnishing and for you to get it framed. €750. Oils on canvas 8″x10″.
