Payment

Each payment will be made in full for each 6 week term at least 1 week in advance of the start of term. Unless otherwise arranged at a reasonable time beforehand, students missing weeks do so at risk to their term. Weeks cannot be made up later as this may take up places already allocated to other students.

Courses

Art Classes Ireland reserves the right to cancel any course if there are insufficient numbers to make up a class. Students who have already paid will get a full refund.

Materials

Students can be provided with easels, chairs, tables where necessary. All other materials such as paint, canvases, paper, drawing-boards, brushes and solvents and rags are to be brought along to the class by the student. A list of essential materials is available on this site. Click on Materials.

Solvents.

Fellow students will be working with oil paints, therefore there will be solvents such as turpentine and white spirit for washing brushes being used in the art class. Students wishing to avoid solvents should make themselves known and perhaps an additional solvent-free class can be organised.

Payment

Students’ place in the class is determined by full payment in the following way. Current students will receive an email on Week 3 to get FIRST REFUSAL to take a place on the following six week cycle of classes. There will be a link to a PayPal button on this web site offering options for a deposit and a full payment. This ‘first refusal’ remains open until week 4 of the current cycle after which places will be automatically opened up to others on the waiting list. If you can’t use PayPal, we can use another method by arrangement. The balance can be paid just before commencement of the succeeding cycle within a week of commencement.

Courses

The classes are a 6 week commitment: Although every effort is made to accommodate students, it is the student’s responsibility to attend the classes; ACI will not give credit for missed classes.

Art Classes Ireland reserves the right to cancel any course if there are insufficient numbers to make up a class. Students who have already paid will get a full refund.

In place of solvents, ACI now uses Zest-it, which is a mixture of lemon oil and hydrocarbon and according to the manufacturers is non-toxic.

Absences

There are no reimbursements for absences by students. If I am unable to take a class for whatever reason, students will be duly notified and a class will be offered on the nearest convenient date.
