Oils Glazing Technique Workshop. €75

The method of the old masters -with a modern twist. Level: intermediate upwards

• (If it’s an alla prima or ‘wet-into-wet’ painting workshop you really want, go here). This workshop is for those with good basic skill level: you will learn how to paint a refined monochrome underpainting and glaze transparent oils over it to achieve colour. This technique makes for a beautiful lustrous finish with a feeling of depth that can be used successfully in portraiture, still lifes, figurative work and landscapes.

You will need to bring an easel, soft brushes suitable for oils and acrylics. You will also need Liquin painting medium (or equivalent). Turps.

Tea and coffee provided. Kitchen and toilet facilities available.

10am -4.30pm with  hour’s break for lunch [not provided].
